Jerry was also the chairman of the Art Department for 28 years, coached varsity and junior varsity baseball, and varsity golf.

After retiring, he and his wife moved to Seneca, SC in 1999. He was the son of Allen and Mildred Hrubes Lewis both of whom predeceased him. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carolyn “Cec” Lewis, his brother Ronald Lewis of Macedonia, Ohio; a daughter and son, Amy Jones and Bradly Lewis both of Chatsworth, Georgia; two step-sons, Chris Gardner of Chula Vista, California and Eric Gardner of Lindale, Texas; a nephew, Ronald Lewis Jr., a great-niece and great nephew, Jordin and Logan Lewis both of California, eleven grandchildren, Amber, Emily, Allison, Alyssa, Eva, Diego, Elias, Sophia, Hannah, Max, and Cameron, and four great-grandchildren, Elias, Jr., Olivia, Madelyn, and Henry.

No services have been planned. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Internment will be in Arcadia Masonic Memorial Park Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio where he will be laid to rest next to his father, Allen Marshall Lewis.

We have one photo from our 101st celebration in October 2021 that we love of Jerry and retired teacher and administrator Dick Plum.  Jerry and Dick enjoyed reliving memories and especially seeing retired friends who visited our second museum, which was in the 1950 Girls PE Dance Room.

Jerry was a generous supporter of the Art Department; in recent years, he sponsored a $1000 yearly scholarship for an outstanding art student.  His wife plans to continue the scholarship in Jerry’s memory.
